And the word for 2013 is.......

Mom, mom it's snowing.
Slowly I open an eye to see
her hovering over me.
I can barely make out her face but I 
can feel the...

Excitement.

I find myself
scurrying to peek out the window.
To see for myself this wonder.

A new blanket of snow covers the ground.
Making everything
clean.

Fresh.

There is something about snow
the way it glistens,
that makes me look at things 
differently.

A new insight.

 From my bedroom window 
my eyes scan the backyard.

 A bird's nest 
sitting nestled in the tree
Why hadn't I noticed that in the summer?

It wasn't til the leaves fell
 everything seemed bare
and the snow fell so gently on it,
that I discovered 
what had always been there.

The word New has been pressed upon my heart.

We are New creations through Christ.
The old has past away.
2 Corinthians 5:17

 His mercies are New every morning.
They never come to an end.
Lamentations 3:22-24

Those who wait for the Lord,
gain New strength.
Isaiah 40:31

God  give us a New heart, New desires,
and a New spirit.
Ezekiel 36:25-27

I am excited for all the 
New beginnings and insights,
and New discoveries.
For New strengths as I wait
for the Lord.
I pray that my heart is open to
all the New things God wants to 
teach me.
