Afraid
She slumps in the overstuffed chair.
It took all morning for her to get ready.
Changed her outfits a number of times.
Re-did and re-did her hair.
Finally coming down the stairs.
One foot at a time.
Heaviness not in her step but in her heart.
Pretending to watch cartoons
but her mama knows better
Her mind is racing and racing.
She is afraid to go back to school.
Last year was so tough,
she is building that confidence in Jesus,
aren't we all?.
Christmas break was fun.
What's wrong bobo??
She gives me that I am a big girl please don't call me that look.
You know mama's have fears too, come and eat
and we'll talk about it.
Questioning what mama's fears,
she makes her way to have fruity pebbles.
I always thought I would be a mama that made breakfast everyday... then I had babies...
Her ears are listening for comforting words.
Cast all your worries on Him
because He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7
As we pray, I pray from my own heart,
I cast my cares to Him,
Because mama's have fears too.
