She is dancing around the kitchen,
twirling here, jumping there.
She goes on her tiptoes
Humming a song.
I am sweeping around her.
Wiping up this mess and that one.
Purple tangled night gown is spinning
as she spins through the dirt pile.
Singing and dancing like she is the star on stage.
It makes me smile.
She stops right in front of me.
I reach down and pull her to me.
Giving her hugs.
Blowing air on her cheeks.
Giggles, then she stops
and
looks at me intensely.
Studying me.
Finally she says...
Hey mom.... your earrings and necklace match.
And I start to giggle.
I put her down and she goes off
singing and dancing on stage again.
