She was born April 18th 2006.
7lbs and 19 1/2 inches,
she was my smallest and last bundle of joy.
She was perfect.
She was beautiful.
And I melted.
Later, I noticed,
her skin was cracked.
Around her little ankles, and little wrists.

Later, I noticed,
her skin was cracked.
Around her little ankles, and little wrists.
Her hands,
feet and legs were peeling.
Her face had, a rash over it.
(I loved my little alligator.)
We thought in time, it would go away....
It didn't, in fact it got worse.
We spent years trying to help her severe eczema.
Her Dr. would give us all kinds of
medicine and lotions and potions.
( At times, I felt I had a pharmacy right in my kitchen.)
None which seemed to work.
Finally, she sent us off to a specialist.

We waited months to see a pediatric dermatologist.
( It was pure torture for me to wait.)
( It was pure torture for me to wait.)
With tears in our my eyes we left with more
steroids and lotions.
And no answers.
And no answers.
We tried every different
detergent, soap, lotion,
cleaning products.
Down to changing the air fresheners.
Down to changing the air fresheners.
(Yes! I freaked out and changed every air freshener)
Nothing seemed to help.
Two years ago,
Two years ago,
we went to diet route.
In my quest...
I had read that dairy
can flare up eczema.
We went all out.

We went all out.
No- dairy.
(Do you know that certain kinds of hot-dogs have dairy? I mean really, is it necessary?)
It helped her skin but it never took it away.
She would still itch.
She still had flare ups.
Bad ones.

I started researching again.
Researched, talked and asked advice.
Because that is what desperate mama's do when their
babies are itchy,
and they rub their legs on the carpet.
and they rub their legs on the carpet.
I thought why not
see if it gluten .
Maybe gluten is causing flare ups.
It is not going to hurt to try.
One week later...
I noticed how she doesn't itch.
She's a little happier.
Lo and behold.
Her skin.....
Is completely clear.
It's a miracle.
A miracle!
So of course I got all crazy....
So of course I got all crazy....
I went and got some okay A LOT of gluten free cookbooks.
(that gluten free stuff in the stores
is REALLY pricey.)
And some fun pans to
make gluten free bakeries look fun.
I mean, who doesn't want to eat a gluten free
donut that is fancy?

This little app has been a life saver.
It shows you the restaurants in the area that
offer a gluten free menu.
Some of the books I read are:
Wheat Belly by William Davis M.D.
G Free Diet by Elizabeth Hasslebaeck
I just had to share with you
why we went gluten free.
And how happy this desperate mama is:)
